Obituary For Joan Mary King-Wolber
Joan was born to Alice and Frank King in Brooklyn, NY. She had two sisters, Alice and Gladys, and one brother, Frank (Mickey).
She married George Wolber and, with their mutual love of animals, welcomed several dogs, many many cats, and even a bunny into their home.
Her love of animals continued right up to her death. She loved feeding the birds, bunnies, and squirrels that lived on the grounds of her apartment complex. Her grocery list always included bird seed, raisin bread, nuts, and carrots. She loved sitting by the window watching them enjoy all the goodies she provided for them. She loved hearing the birds chirping and singing. One of her biggest joys was to see a butterfly fly by, thinking it could be her mom, a sister, or another loved one who had passed, coming down from heaven to check on her.
Most of all, she loved her family. She always said she was so thankful she had a good family. She loved us and we loved her.
She was proud of her Irish heritage. Her front door was decorated with the Irish flag and shamrocks.
She lived a good, long, happy life. We will miss her stories, her generous heart, her sense of humor, her laughter, and her beautiful smile. We will miss her and always remember her. She will always be close in our hearts. Rest in Peace Aunt Joan. Until we meet again, please know we love you.
