Laura (Pontus) Kissane, 102, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Born December 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Pontus. Laura was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Kissane; her loving son Thomas Kissane (Beatrice); her dear sister Helen Krause; and dear brother John Pontus. She is survived by her dear sister Claire Stafford; her loving daughters Maureen Fitzgibbons (Thomas) and Lorraine Abad (late Ed Abad); and her dear son Daniel Kissane (Mickey). Laura also is survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Picaro (Louis); Jennifer Abad-Amato (Richard); Serena Abad; Daniel Kissane (Mindy) and her great-grandchildren, Ryan Picaro; Derek, Jackson, and Rhett Kissane; and Isabella Amato.

Laura was a legend and the epitome of a life lived to its fullest. She was a special, vibrant woman filled with a love for life and people, and she was a devout Catholic. She never wanted to miss a party, loved her weekly senior club meetings, luncheons, and outings. She never missed a family gathering, celebration, or event. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious. She was strong, kind-hearted, beautiful, intelligent, and compassionate, and she happily passed these traits on to many generations in her family. Laura will be forever missed by her immediate family; a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many, many friends.
